Ineco will once again collaborate with Rail Baltica carrying out consultancy services to design the strategy, specifications and technical requirements for the storage of materials.

Our company has been present in the Rail Baltica project since the beginning of 2019, together with other Spanish companies (Ardanuy and IDOM), participating in the design of rail accesses to Riga or in the design of a 94 km section between Vangazy (Latvia) and the border with Estonia.

Since the implementation of Rail Baltica, Ineco has obtained a total of eight contracts in various consulting areas, design and supervision of this important railway infrastructure project. In addition, Ineco has been responsible of the definition of the implementation strategy of the energy system of the entire operation, as well as the analysis and design of the maintenance facilities throughout the line. A sign of confidence that Rail Baltica has placed in the Spanish engineering company since the beginning of the plan.

Rail Baltica's objective is to link the three Baltic republics (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) by means of a high-performance line that will later connect with the rest of Europe through Poland and Finland. A railway line that will extend along 870 km in the three republics, thanks to an investment of 5,800 million euros, and that will create some 36,000 jobs. Rail Baltica's design is based on the creation of a 100% electric network, which reduces polluting emissions to zero and it is environmentally friendly.  The line is planned to avoid Natura 2000 protected areas as much as possible and without significant impacts on other protected areas. Our company leads the implementation of BIM in Spain, so all projects are also being developed entirely under this model. In addition, the line will have an ERTMS level 2 signaling system for mixed traffic, which can reach 249km/h for passenger traffic and 120km/h for freight traffic.
