Ineco president Jesús Silva has received a Kuwaiti delegation led by Awatef Al Ghunaim, the Under-Secretary of the country’s Ministry Of Public Works. The visit is part of the first official trip to Spain of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works since the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on transport infrastructure in 2014.

During the meeting, an addendum to the initial MOU was signed by Under-Secretary Al Ghunaim and Julio Gómez-Pomar, the Secretary of State for Infrastructure of the Spanish Ministry of Public Works. In the addendum, which is intended to build upon the initial agreement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works requests assistance in the construction of the new terminal at Kuwait International Airport. In the framework of this addendum, and at the express request of the Kuwaiti ministry, Ineco is appointed for the provision of technical assistance in the construction of the new building and associated infrastructure.

In the last five years, Ineco has carried out both the Master Plan and the project management of works at Kuwait International Airport. This has given it a robust understanding of the infrastructure, and particularly the construction project for the new TII terminal building.

The visit enabled the Spanish government to show the Kuwaiti delegation some of Spain’s most important infrastructure, including Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport, the Madrid–Córdoba high speed line, the Atocha Control Centre and the Port of Barcelona. Accompanied by the general manager of Ineco’s Commercial and Clients Department, María Sánchez-Palomo, Ineco president Jesús Silva had the chance to show the visitors the Spanish Centre for Engineering Interpretation at the company’s offices, highlighting our potential in the transport sector.
