Once again this year, Ineco participated in the World ATM Congress, the largest annual event for the air navigation industry. This congress, which is now in its seventh year, was held in Madrid from 12 to 14 March, bringing together more than 8,500 professionals from more 130 countries, 230 companies in the aeronautical sector and 80 air navigation providers.\

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transportation and Housing, Pedro Saura, opened the event. In his speech, Saura affirmed that air transport is a strategic sector for all countries, in terms of the territorial support structure, social cohesion and economic impact, and that in the case of Spain, these characteristics are especially important due to the country’s transcontinental geographic location, its peninsular and insular characteristics, and its condition as the leading tourist vacation destination.

Later, he visited the joint stand of the Fomento Group, accompanied by María José Rallo, Secretary General of Transportation, and our president, Carmen Librero, where he asked about our experience in the Galileo programme and our projects related to drones.

At the congress, Ineco presented to technical conferences led by Victor Gordo and Javier Espinosa, on the application of drones in airports, and our innovative tool for designing flight procedures, respectively. Ineco also provided different SESAR Walking Tours, led by Pilar Calzón, José Manuel Rísquez, José Recio and Víctor Gordo, together with Enaire and Sesar Joint Undertaking.
